This is the fifth annual Trends in Academic Publishing report conducted by Deanta. Over the past five years, these surveys have become an invaluable resource for understanding the ever-changing landscape of academic publishing. Deanta began life as a ‘traditional services vendor’ but has always had a forward-looking approach towards technology, both in our own operations and across our clients’ organisations. The trends we identify in these surveys complement our own consultative discussions with publishers and build a picture of an industry still in considerable flux.
We hope that our surveys and subsequent reports provide a platform for industry professionals to share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs. We already have evidence that previous reports have sparked meaningful discussions and driven positive change within the community. We certainly hope that this report does the same.
